Job Summary

Estimator needed to do restoration and remodel projects for both residential and commercial property owners.

Kelley Construction is seeking a personable, driven individual looking to move forward in the construction industry. As an Estimator, this person will make sales calls to potential customers and prepare on site estimates, while maintaining relationships with resident owners and/or commercial property managers. Estimating, carpentry knowledge and Xactimate software experience will be given preference.

• Ensuring accurate estimates, adhering to company margins as well as contributing to a safe work environment.
• Preparing estimates and proposals to prospective customers via on-site measuring & evaluations of conditions of property and assisting the owner with large proposals.
• Proactively identifying and contacting potential customers & face-to-face sales calls.
• Maintaining a positive relationship with current and future property owners and managers which results in our company being the first and sometimes only call for service or quotes for service.
• Making sales presentations to residential owners and commercial property managers, networking both during work hours and periodically after hours while representing the company at designated industry network groups.
• Maintaining assigned sales quotas and following established company guidelines.

As an Estimator, we are looking for a person that can use their personality-based sales abilities as well as their knowledge of our services, which we will provide with our paid training and mentoring program. You will make your presentation to prospective customers during an in-person, on-site sales call.

• Closing on projects and estimates delivered to the customer
• Estimating the date of project commencement for the customer based on your knowledge of production schedules

Qualifications and Skills

As an Estimator you must be self-motivated, adaptable and have a persuasive personality. You must also have excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong active-listening skills. In addition you must be computer literate with Microsoft office products and the use of a smartphone. Specific qualifications include:

• Remodeling experienced
• Ambition to stick around and contribute like a partner with this growing business, not just an employee
• Seasoned networker in the business circles with a preference in the construction field
• Proven success in closing sales is preferred experience
• The ability to follow up with customers, maintain positive relationships and CLOSE sales
• Analytic and problem-solving abilities
• Valid Illinois Driver’s License
• Proficient in Xactimate — insurance restoration preferred
• Must meet the physical requirements of the job including, but not limited to, walking, kneeling, crouching and the ability to lift and carry an extension ladder, climbing for dimensions
• Must work within company safety policies
