Cracked, loose, or missing siding does more than hurt your home’s curb appeal; it lets water and cold air behind your walls, and the damage usually gets worse the longer it sits. Kelley Construction Contractors, Inc. is a family-owned, locally operated residential siding repair specialist serving Peoria and Central Illinois. We diagnose the real cause of the damage, match the repair to your home’s existing siding as closely as possible, and stand behind the work once it’s done. Here’s what that looks like in practice:

Some siding damage is obvious. Some shows up somewhere else entirely, on an interior wall or your energy bill, before it ever looks like a siding problem. Watch for:
If you’re seeing any of these, especially the ones that don’t look like siding damage at first glance, it’s worth having it checked before the problem underneath gets bigger.
How we repair your siding depends on what it’s made of. Here’s what that looks like for each.

We repair vinyl siding by replacing individual damaged panels or patching small holes and cracks directly, rather than redoing more than necessary. Vinyl fades over time, so we’ll get as close a color match as we can, though an exact match isn’t always possible on siding that’s several years old.

Kelley Construction repairs fiber cement siding by carefully cutting out and replacing the damaged section, then repainting to blend the patch with the surrounding siding. Fiber cement holds up well structurally, so repairs usually address a specific, isolated area rather than a widespread problem.

Our team cleans, fills, and sands damaged wood siding to restore it, then reseals or repaints it to protect against further weather exposure. Wood siding is the most vulnerable to rot and termite damage of the three, so we check the surrounding area carefully, not just the visibly damaged spot.
Not every siding problem means you need a full re-siding job, and we won’t tell you it does just to sell a bigger project. In most cases, a repair is enough to get years more life out of siding that’s otherwise in reasonable shape.
A repair usually makes sense for isolated damage, a handful of panels, a section damaged by a fallen branch or hail, a small area of rot. Replacement starts to make more sense when damage is spread across multiple areas, when the siding is old enough that matching materials is no longer realistic, or when repeated repairs start to cost more than a full replacement. We’ll walk your property, tell you honestly which situation you’re in, and if replacement really is the better option, we’ll point you to Siding Replacement rather than patch something that won’t last.

When something’s wrong with your siding, you want someone who tells you the truth about what it actually needs, not whichever answer costs more. Kelley Construction Contractors, Inc. will always tell you honestly whether a repair or a full replacement is the right call, and we’d rather do a smaller job right than sell you something bigger than your home needs.
Mike Kelley founded this company in 1994 and still stays involved in projects today. If a repair turns out to be more involved once we’re actually looking at your siding up close, you’re talking to someone who can make a real decision on the spot.
Every siding repair comes with a 1-year workmanship warranty, and our crews are the same experienced carpenters we’ve built over three decades in Central Illinois, not a subcontractor we’ve never worked with before.
We serve homeowners throughout Peoria and Central Illinois, within about 50 miles of Peoria, with offices in Pekin, Peoria, and Normal, and coverage extending to Bloomington, East Peoria, Dunlap, Bartonville, and Galesburg. Kelley Construction Contractors, Inc. is fully licensed, bonded, and insured for residential siding work, and we’re a BBB Accredited Business.
I had two basement windows, that were below ground level, with concrete window wells. The window wells would fill with rain and leak through the windows. I called Kelly Construction, and got an estimate, to remove the windows and wells, then block in the openings. The estimate was good, so I contracted with them to do the job. Austin and Cesar finished the job yesterday, the hottest day of the year. They worked so hard, and were very perfessional. They cleaned up all the mess and left things the way were. I couldn't be happier with the job. I would definitely recommend Kelly Construction.
Todd and Ian with Kelley Construction did an incredible job to remodel my basement. I couldn’t ask for two better men to do the job. They were very professional and courteous throughout the entire process. And the basement looks great.
Kitchen demo and wall removal - great work on everybody's part. Tyler was the sales rep and he secured the contract and gave me excellent pricing. Clint, Carl and Austin did all the work. They set the beam and hauled away the demo PLUS other debris from other work; this was unexpected and appreciated. Fred scheduled; the team was in/out in 2 days. Fred also rerouted an HVAC duct that was in the wall. Another unexpected bonus. After he was done, that new duct looked like it was always there. Many ways Kelley and the staff makes a difference. Its your home and you want people you can trust. These guys are your crew.
Job was for new garage soffits and install a garage door, trim/paint. Good quote, on time, did the job well, good workmanship, clean up, personable. Couldn’t ask for more. Nicely done Travis, Austin, Carl and Dylan.
Absolutely horrible. I felt like I was doing their job for them. They never communicated, left me in limbo for weeks after I already paid them thousands of dollars, and then couldn't even be bothered to reply to my insurance agent. They didn't even tell me who they were contracting for repairs. Never go with Kelley Construction!
Kelley Construction was professional work from Alex Grant listening to what our thoughts were in repairing decks and installing a fence to providing a quote. Michael Caldwell, the crew lead, was creative in providing solutions along his capable and respectful crew (Craig Nelson, Carl Schoon, and Josh Pettit). I recommend Kelley as a great local provided of general construction.
Austin did a fantastic job of repairing our siding. Even when round additional damage underneath, he did just cover it up, but fixed it so it wouldn’t happen again. He when above and beyond to give us a perfect repair.
austin, dillion,an travis just finished siding my garage. turned a shed into a fine looking garage. these guys have an eye for details and do great work.
This is the second time we've had Kelley Construction out to do some work for us, and like last time we couldn't be happier! Travis and Dillon were here straight away first thing in the morning and got right to work. Travis was here for our last job and he was awesome this time just like he was last time, and Dillon was a new face to meet and was also fantastic! Both of them got a pretty tough job done in a very short period of time. This involved roof work in July summer heat, all on a very steep pitch and a 40 foot drop. They were both extremely professional in their work, thorough, and left the job site clean (perhaps cleaner!) than when they arrived. Both of these gentlemen are extremely personable and very easy to talk to as well, and were excellent at explaining everything with the work they did. I can't thank you all enough for delivering on excellent work yet again. There is a reason we go straight to Kelley for all of our needs and don't bother with shopping around for quotes anymore. The rates are extremely fair, and we know we are going to have quality work done every time. Thank you so much!! -Chris Lawrence
--5 Year Update-- Don, via Kelley Construction, remodeled our bathroom 5 years ago. He gets a one-star review for what he did to our window, and for his refusal to stand by his work. He took out the bathroom window and we had a massive thunderstorm that caused water to leak into the wall and down into the kitchen. He came back out and taped a garbage bag to it before refitting it the next day. He reinstalled the window incorrectly, blocked the weeping holes with molding, and created a slant in the frame that caused storm rain to pool, introducing a permanent leak into our house. We did not realize how bad it was until a particularly bad storm that caused the water in the wall to pool onto the kitchen floor. We had roofers investigate leaks, twice, and they sealed up any-and-all seams on the outside and in our attic. It still leaked during bad storms. Finally a window company pointed out the problem and said it was caused by a shoddy window install, and the bathroom window was directly where water entered the wall. So I called Don, and he refused to revisit his work, or even speak to me, and insisted that I only call Kelley Construction. Kelley Construction said in five years they couldn't be sure that it wasn't someone else who screwed up the window, and that there was nothing they could do. I told them that we have been investigating this problem every time theres a storm, had two different roofers here, and FINALLY stopped the leak by wedging washcloths into the bathroom window. Taylor at Kelley Construction "yelled at me to take legal action!" and hung up. Worst contractor experience I've ever had. Also, the sink fell out of our bathroom fixture and Kelley/Don sent me a copy of the receipt: It was a discontinued item that they purchased off Clearance, and it was not (ever) covered by the manufacturer's warranty. I thought we were getting high-quality "Builder-Grade" materials and professionalism with Kelley/Don. I was wrong.
Thankful for the professional team from Kelly Construction that provided a cement repair above my garage. Moe and Dakota, did a great job and took extra care of the clean up and paid attention to the details of the product.
Great job! Very pleased with the work ethic, the courtesy and the entire job done by Don, Austin, Mo and Cris. A three room remodel with a couple of challenges they handled very well. Thanks again!
Todd and Ian did a fantastic job with my siding replacement. Their work was first class and they were a pleasure to work with. I'm sure that they are two of your best team members.
Travis and Dillion were not only respectful and efficient at the repairs, they had good music to listen to as well. 🙂
Clint and Carl did a very nice job and everything was done in a timely manner. Travis and Dikioh did and great job
I had an entire exterior doorway replaced due to water rot in my older home. Great job. The results are everything I expected. All the guys, Alex, Fred, Moe, Chris, Clint and Carl were prompt, professional and patient with my questions and concerns. Recommend their services.
The team that completed our project included Mo, Cris, Don and Austin. They responded to our requests and the finished work looks great!
Very professional company and employees Tyler went through a lot with drawing plans for this project up with all our changes. Mike and his crew are very professional and very nice to get along with. I highly recommend them even if we had changes in the middle of the project. They were like OK we could do that no hassles . They all get an A+ in my book
Don and his crew Austin, Phill, Travis, Tony, Fred and Dave were awesome! Definitely recommend Kelley Construction and hope that you get Don and his team. Very professional, hard working and always on time.
They finished the job on time and on budget and we are thrilled with the results! Todd and Ian did a great job!
Super crew. Travis Sutton and Dillion were pleasant and respectful. Hard workers quick but efficient.
I could not be happier with the work that Don and Austin did to repair the back side of my house. I purchased the home recently and discovered that water had been getting in under the siding for long enough to rot the wood. They spent one long day diagnosing the extent, replacing all of the wood and sealing the entire area up to make it water tight. They were knowledgeable and professional.
We had Kelly Construction replace the flooring in our master bathroom and were very happy with the results. We then called their agent Chip and requested a contract to replace the flooring in our Livingroom, kitchen, 2nd bathroom, and laundry room. He promised they would move everything and put it back in place. Chip sent us Todd and Ian to do the flooring. They totally impressed us with their work ethic and skills. We are fully satisfied with the results of their work and would recommend Kelly Construction to family and friends.
So glad we found Kelley Construction online and that they service Bloomington/Normal. Tyler did a great job of assessing the needed underground repair and Carl did a great job of raising the lower end of the drainpipe and replacing the pop-up drainage emitter. We will definitely use Kelly Construction again if the need arises for any repairs.
We couldn't be happier with our new kitchen! Alex's design, Fred's check ins, and especially Clint and Carl's installation work were outstanding!
Travis Sutton and Tony C repaired the roof vent leak perfectly. They were prompt and very respectful of our home. Thank you so very much!!!!
This is the third project I’ve hired Kelley Construction to do, it’s amazing. My disabled combat veteran father, needed a bathroom remodel, they delivered!!!! Clint and Carl were compassionate and supportive to my needs during the process. The work done by these two men’s is incredible! We couldn’t be happier with the end results!
Don and Dave replaced a couple bathroom fans for my wife and me on March 4, 2026. They put plastic down along the path from the front door to the bathrooms to protect carpets. They completed the work in one day, and vacuumed well before leaving. Work also included installation of better venting than had existed previously. Neither original fan was lighted, but (at my wife's insistence) one of the replacement fans has a dimmable LED, and they were able to wire that in to the existing dimmer switch for the vanity light. That fan is also bigger than the original, so they had to enlarge the opening. The work involved accessing the top level attic via a 14 x 21 inch hatch in a closet ceiling, then navigating through a bed of roughly 16 inch deep blown in cellulose insulation -- i.e., you can't see the joists you need to step on to move around the space. Even if I had the requisite knowledge and skills (which I don't), I'm pretty sure if I'd attempted this myself I'd have fallen through a bathroom ceiling. Plus, that level of the attic is cramped, so you have to bend low and then crawl -- on joists -- to get to some areas -- things my aging knees would object to. Don and Dave were personable, and we enjoyed talking with them both. They also had a nice camaraderie with each other, which made for a more pleasant experience for us. I'll add shout outs to Chip, who estimated the work and suggested wiring the fan light into the vanity light dimmer, and to Fred, who managed the scheduling and was patient with our delays due to a family medical issue, my remarkably inefficient work in emptying the closet containing the attic access hatch, and my overly complex measures to protect the adjoining bedroom from cellulose and dust I feared would blow down from the attic (not much did).
I had them remodel my upstairs. clint and Austin made sure it was always clean and did a great job and even went beyond what I asked just to make sure it turned out right I would recommend!
Highly recommend! Interior structural repair went smoothly! Thanks Kelley Construction!
Mike Caldwell, Craig Nelso, Dillon Tordon, and Austin Connor are a well organized competent crew of Carpenters. They met a unique challenge with a "can do", attitude. They met all of our expectations. Thank you.
Don and Dave did a prefect job, From start to finish everything was done the proper way, would recommend them to all plus there were very clean and no mess after each day. Thank for a excellent project.
Had closet reconstructed for washer dryer Don and Dave did a great job and were very efficient!!
Don and Dave did a really nice job with our remodeling project. Even with some extra electrical work they still completed the project on time.
There's a good reason Kelley Construction has good Google review numbers! We recently had a number of repairs done on our home, some of which were found during the home inspection when we purchased the house, and some which arose after purchasing the home. One of the latter issues was a leaking vent pipe in an attic, which was slow-dripping onto the kitchen ceiling, and it eventually blistered the drywall and created a hole into the attic. To make matters worse, the ceiling in the kitchen is a custom color paint, and has a textured finish, so not the simplest repair. Travis and Tony both showed up and got straight to work. They were both very fast, efficient, and kept their work areas clean. Above all of that, they're both super nice people and very easy to talk to. They showed a ton of respect to me and our home, and they made sure to check in with me each step of the way during the project to ensure things looked good to me before moving on to the next step. The entire process from start to finish was very easy from scheduling to get an estimate/quote, to scheduling the work itself, and to taking care of the bill. Pricing was very reasonable and fair, and we're relieved to have several inspection issues dealt with and no more holes in the kitchen ceiling! We will definitely be contacting Kelley Construction for all of our future needs (and we already have a number of items on the list we'll be having them take care of later this year!). Thank you so much for great service, and again, big shout out to Travis and Tony, they were fantastic at what they do, and ultra nice folks as well!
This company was so easy and efficient to work with in getting a roof replaced and repairing a ceiling due to a critter that got in. Communication was prompt, work was done beautifully and the quote I was given is what I paid, no hidden surprises sprung on me!
Todd and Carl were great! They were friendly and informative and were super clean. We couldn’t be happier with our new laundry room.
Kelly Construction converted a covered deck to a family room for us. We are very pleased with the finished room. All the crews: demolition, footings, foundation, siding, and interior work were professional and friendly. I hope I have the entire list of workers: Austin, Ian, Jerry, Mike, Craig, Dillon, Brody, and especially Don. Don handled all the inside and finishing work. He kept us informed on each step and was professional and respectful to our property. As with all projects, not everything went smoothly, but we felt the glitches were handled and in the end we are very satisfied!
If your siding is damaged beyond a reasonable repair, or you’re ready for a different look entirely, that’s Siding Replacement territory. We’ll tell you honestly whether that’s where you are before recommending it.
If it’s a business property rather than a home that needs siding work, our Commercial Exteriors team handles that instead, with materials and systems built for commercial buildings.
Whether it’s a single damaged panel or siding affected across an entire side of your home, we’ll take a direct look, give you an honest assessment, and put together a free estimate you can rely on. You’ll know exactly what’s wrong, what it takes to fix it, and how close a match you can expect before you decide anything. The sooner you address damaged siding, the less likely it is to cause problems behind the wall, so there’s real value in not waiting. Call or fill out the form below, and we’ll get someone out to your property.
In most cases, it comes down to how widespread the damage is and how old your siding already is. Isolated damage on siding that’s otherwise in good shape usually means a repair. Widespread damage, or siding old enough that matching materials isn’t realistic, usually points to replacement. See the Repair or Replacement section above for the specific criteria we use, or we’ll assess it directly during your estimate.
Not always, and we’ll tell you honestly upfront rather than promise something we can’t deliver. Vinyl and painted materials fade over time, so a repair on siding that’s several years old may not match perfectly. We’ll get as close as realistically possible.
We repair vinyl, fiber cement, and wood siding, using the method best suited to each material. If you’re not sure what your siding is made of, we’ll identify it during the estimate.
Most siding repairs are completed in a single visit. The exact time depends on the extent of the damage and the material involved, and you’ll get a specific estimate in your quote.
